Hi everyone! Welcome to your accountability group. I often get asked how to stay consistent. How do we continue the journey when things come up that set us back or attempt to take us down? Well, for one, we just do. We can't control everything in our lives. It is up to us to choose how to continue. We can control one thing - how we react to circumstances. In March 2020, I published a book called Reclaim Your Life. It came from my own journey and things I have learned along the way. What I realized was the journey I went through to get where I am now was all for a purpose. It now allows me to be the one who locks arms with others, supports them, encourages them, and becomes that person they can count on to lift them up when life tries to push them down. It does take daily effort. Nevertheless, as I told someone recently, the ark wasn't built in one day and neither is forming healthier habits.
In the book, "The Power of Habit," by Charles Duhigg, a study was done and the results found it can take up to 10 weeks to replace a habit - 10 WEEKS! So this means consistency wins the race. We can't get frustrated when things aren't going our way. We can't go back in time and change anything. We can learn and every day we are given breathe, we can continue. This group is your community. We are all here to support one another. We are not here to judge or lack empathy. The journey isn't always roses. Nevertheless, we can begin to smell the roses the longer we stay in the pasture.
